Here’s some more animations I finished recently!
The Tug O War animation was the first animation (I think) that I did straight ahead animation on – no planning !

Finally, I figured out how to keep the way that my colours were after it’s been uploaded so it doesn’t look all neon and stuff x.x Saving it as a PNG file solved it!

Here’s the final character design assignment from last term – Model sheets for both characters and then 3 interactive poses! Lots of fun going the interactive ones :D
Then we got to sculpt one of the characters with sculpey ! Funtimes!

The background is concept work of the two characters, from the concept work I drew a clean version of the drawing, then ink it on paper as well. After that I scan it in and make the lines smoother with Illustrator and then painted it up on Photoshop!

2nd year animations !

Here are some of the animations from this year that I’ve finished for my animation class… all done on paper ! Oh man… animating on paper is … cruel. Hahahaha.. to the trees and to my hand, my eyes and my mind. But it’s worth it when you get to see it all finished and put together :]

First up is my 20 second lip-sync animation! 10 seconds of dialogue had to be included in the animation, and the dialogue can be from whatever movie or show. I picked a clip from Ocean’s Eleven :D

Animating a one sentence dialogue with a bunny man character I created :D If you couldn’t really understand what he said, it was “I am in shape….round, is a shape!”

“Absolutely Incredible!” – first animation I did in my 2nd year… first time animating lip-sync I think!

layout, life drawings and a space babe.

Wanted to post up a bunch of stuff on since I’ve finally gotten it onto the computer for my yearbook pages…whew!

My layout of something like a market in Hong Kong – this took me awhile to clean with all the little details, but I’m liking how it turned out :]

Space babe ! Doodled this in the studio when I didn’t feel like doing anything else, Sebastian was teaching me how to draw more realistically – I always tend to draw the eyes far apart with huge craniums but .. now I can draw realistically(er) now! Yay!
Hoping to ink this and colour it as soon as I have the time to :D

My life drawings that I really liked from the last batch of drawings that I showed to my life drawing teacher Rick. Thanks to whoever left a pack of charcoal sticks lying around, I decided to try drawing with it. Shading and drawing dark lines just got a LOT easier ! Sticking to charcoal sticks now!

oldies from 1st year : part two

I found more stuff in my folders!
I can look back and laugh at how long it took me to finish these pieces and how I wanted to choke something while I’m staying up until 5am, finishing it all :D Oh god.

Old character design of Jekyll & Hyde, and that last layout assignment where we draw ourselves at our desks. Heh. That Jekyll & Hyde assignment was so hard x.x

My super old character design assignment! One of the first few, I think. My favourite was my poo-throwing monkey :D

Ohhh! My first (or.. second actually) Digital Tools assignment ever. Painting a character that you created. This took awhile for me, because I was a painting newbie. Still am though! Got to keep working on it…

This piece dates back to grade 12, actually.. when I submitted it to win a macbook or something? Back then I didn’t know how to paint on the computer whatsoever, so this was done with commercial paint by hand. I was very inspired by Hyung Tae Kim’s designs – dangly things and little details that look pretty but don’t really serve a purpose :D

oldies from 1st year

I’m going to procrastinate a bit (ha, a bit) and finally put THINGS into my blog ! I’ve been wanting to do this.. but it seemed like such a complicated process to find my artwork, then take a picture of it, scan it whatever, then upload and all that ..

But I’ll start !

Old stuff from last year as I’m looking through my Flickr account..

Werner’s 20 pelvis assignment… hahaha :D It was a good thing to go through, too bad I still forget what the pelvis really looks like. It’s too complicated man! All those bumps and holes and wings and buckets and .. yeah.

This was the earliest piece of life drawing that I have on the account.. I need to find my first ever life drawing and stick it on here. This is halfway through the 1st year I think, and this is how my drawing’s changed by the end of 1st year

Yeahhh I still have a lot to improve on :D They generally look the same.. so I need to get on that! Honestly, that last drawing there with the woman with her back towards us … I don’t know what was going on that day, whatever I was feeling or doing, it was going really good for me :D So.. I hope that it comes back soon! Because that drawing came that one time, and I couldn’t do it again. Bah.
